You know the cliche: a picture is worth a thousand words.
But sometimes they just leave you speechless.

--Ken Brady, his father, and three of his four brothers--
Like now. I have no words for this. Just strong emotions too deep to articulate. If you haven't, please take time to check out Amelia's tribute to her (and Kenny's) dad (click here). The black & white photos at the end are especially moving.

Particularly this one.
--Ken and Kenny: Father and Son--

Thank you, Amelia, for saving this moment.

Home

We're home (together) at last.
Time for life to continue.
As a side note, I want "home" to be in a Calvin Burton painting - particularly the one above. Can anyone make that happen for me?

Kenneth Neff Brady passed away Sunday morning (July 19, 2009) in Saint George, UT surrounded by his wife, parents, and many of his siblings, children, and grandchildren.

By all accounts he went peacefully “with a smile on his face.”

After battling the exponentially debilitating effects of Lou Gehrig’s disease (ALS) for over a year, one can only imagine the joy he must have felt at his release. A smile seems only appropriate.

His family misses him already, but is confident Ken is in a better place and is happy.

And we are all happy for that.

(And I am happy my husband will be home soon.)

Wanna know what else "I" is for? Political Incorrectness.

(This alphabet tile was found at a local antique store and demanded to be shared. Happy Monday.)

Read it.
Beautiful.

The Lone Ranger misses her Tonto

Kenny's been gone for three weeks now. While I've been able to visit him the last two weekends, I still miss him. It's worse not knowing when he'll be able to come home. Harder still, is knowing the event that will bring him home will not be a pleasant one. (Sigh.)

Come home soon, Tonto.
(BTW, how fantastic are those costumes? I think I want to be Tonto...)

Time to relax

Well hello there, Desert Sanctuary...
I'll see you tonight.
(Oh, and wear that little dress I bought you.)

Kenny's first text of the morning:

Maybe it's me, but somethings are better left unshared. Things like:

"Big laughs...just accidentally yanked out my dad's catheter."

(Kenny should take note.)
